This is a very versatile desk lamp that allows for multiple positions and heights. The height adjustable arms are tv antennas, literally and 6″ isn’t much travel, so I keep it in the extended position. The housing that holds the 18 led lights swings up and over so the lights shoot upward. The leds are really bright, great for examining things, but can be a little blinding.

Once I discovered the lamp head flips over and acts like a torchiere lamp, this is the main position I use. It provides enough light in my work area without being too bright. Oddly enough, I rarely use this as an actual desk lamp. It’s a great value and serves my purpose. If you’re looking for a desk lamp to cast light downward, I’d recommend looking at different lamps before buying one to see how much light it emits.

This lamp is acceptable. The brightness is good for reading. The area of illumination is quite focused, as expected, so this lamp is really designed for close small-area work, not for illuminating an entire desk.

The construction is rather disappointing. At least there is a proper metal flip switch, which hopefully will last some years. However, the product is advertised as having a brushed steel finish. From this description, and without being able to clearly judge from the accompanying photographs, one would assume that that this finish is applied to the entire lamp. Wrong. Only the top surface of the base has the brushed steel finish. The base itself, the mounts for the telescoping arms, and the lamp head are instead constructed from ugly grey plastic, which gives the entire lamp a rather cheap and unaesthetic appearance.

The fact that the construction is half-plastic should have been made explicit in the product details. For this sort of cheap construction, the lamp should be no more than $20.

This lamp is a huge joke. It’s too short to really illuminate an area larger than the size of a DVD disc. I work in an office where I like to keep the lights low but want my desk lit up nicely. I have a Fenix flashlight that produces twice as much light as this one. Amazingly cheap-looking, too. The two bars look like someone chopped off antennas from old cars– they weren’t even straight. One was pulled slightly to the left, which gave a lopsided appearance… The head was also sideways.

If you’re looking for a seriously cheap lamp and don’t care what others around you think, get this… but don’t expect it to light up anything except the sheet of paper right under it. I’m not exaggerating with that one.

The finishes are also varied, too. Base on sides is plastic. Top of base is brushed steel. Poles are car antennas. Top of head is grey plastic. Bottom part of head is reflective foil-ish material.

    Avoid. Continue your search.

This is perfect for my home Computer, and EXACTLY what I was looking for.

The LED’s are recessed into the head, so I can shine the light on my keyboard, and yet it does not glare into my eyes, or on my monitor, and I can position the light on the side of my keyboard and monitor, so that the light does not obstruct my viewing of my monitor.

I liked what the other reviewer said ([...]), where he flipped the head pointing up. I am going to buy another one for the bedroom, and point the leds toward the ceiling.

The LED head can be positioned in almost any angle, so finding the perfect position to light your keyboard without shining glare on your monitor or in your eyes is relatively easy.

This light is just perfect for me, so I give it 5 stars, but I still see a few areas for improvements:

As reviewer OM says, the LED head itself is black plastic, and it would be nicer if the head was also brushed Stainless Steel, but I have no problem with the black.

    I wish there was a High/Low switch.

I also wish the power supply brick was located in the base of the lamp instead of plugging into the wall.

This is a *very* small lamp that produces very little light.

It comes with a ridiculous power hogging wall wart that will run 24/7 even when the lamp is off; so much for any green benefit from the LED’S.

If offered at half the list price, it would be overpriced. Look elsewhere, as this is yet another excessively cheap product from China. And, when the LED’s go, the lamp is landfill, no replacement. Sorry I bought it.
